Telegram users are being sent viruses in bulk under the guise of photographs

In the Telegram messenger, attackers began sending viruses, disguising them as photographs.

This was reported on October 19 in the Telegram channel Vestnik Cyberpolice of Russia.

Scammers send files with signatures that can trick users into opening them.

These files look like images but have the APK extension.

Law enforcement officials explained that real photographs cannot have such an extension.

Users have been warned against downloading suspicious files.

Telegram has become one of the most popular messaging platforms.

Fraudsters took advantage of this fact to carry out fraudulent schemes.
