Researchers have found one advantage for people who go to bed late and wake up closer to lunchtime.
Scientists from Imperial College London claim that so-called "owls" have higher cognitive abilities than "larks".
The specialists shared the results of the study on the institution’s website .
During the work, the scientists analyzed data from over 26,000 people. They found that the duration and quality of sleep affect cognitive abilities.
There is even a connection between the chronotypes of "owls" and "larks". The former are most active in the evening and at night, while the latter like to act early in the morning.
Tests have been conducted that have shown that "owls" have cognitive abilities that are twice as high as "larks".
In second place were people who have no preferences. The worst results were shown by "larks".
Scientists also found out that for optimal brain function, you need to sleep at least 7-9 hours a day.
