Neurobiologists have conducted a comprehensive study and described how fatherhood affects the male brain.

This issue was studied by experts from the USA and Spain.

They shared their findings in a scientific paper published in the journal Cerebral Cortex .

The study involved 38 men who had become fathers for the first time. The main sources of data were brain MRI results and questionnaires.

The study was conducted both during the period of waiting for the birth of the child, and in the first three, six and twelve months after the baby was born.

Scientists have recorded both positive and negative consequences.

For example, experts found a significant reduction in gray matter volume across the entire cortex in young fathers, particularly in the frontal, temporal, and parietal lobes.

These results were obtained from fathers who reported the strongest prenatal bond with their child, and who planned to devote more time to their offspring.

That is, changes in this case are dictated by the parental involvement of men. The less they are interested in changing their status, the less changes there are.

But at the same time, changes in the brain are also associated with high levels of stress and deterioration in sleep quality, anxiety.

Earlier, scientists explained how often you need to climb stairs for heart health.
