Experts have named indicators that need to be monitored to increase the chances of healthy longevity.

A study on this topic was conducted by medical scientists from Karolinska University (Sweden).

The experts shared their findings in a scientific paper for the journal GeroScience , which focuses on issues of aging.

The chances of longevity increase if a person has normal levels of sugar, iron and cholesterol in the blood.

In addition, scientists recommend ensuring that the body has low levels of uric acid and creatinine.

The researchers came to these conclusions after analyzing the medical data and lifestyle of 44,000 people who underwent medical examinations in 1985–1996. At that time, they were 64–99 years old.

Of the 44 thousand Swedes, 1,224 people, or less than 3%, lived to be 100 years old.

Doctors found that these people, when they were 60 years old, had good levels of sugar, iron and cholesterol in their blood. They did not have elevated uric acid or creatinine.

This means that the path to healthy longevity is formed over many years. The healthier a person is at the turn of 50-60 years, the higher the chances of reaching their centenary.
