The Juno space probe has transmitted to Earth a new batch of images of the planet Jupiter, in whose orbit it is located.

The resulting frames are distinguished by high image clarity.

This was reported on Thursday by Newsweek , which shared impressive footage.

The unique images were obtained during the spacecraft's 66th flyby of the solar system's gas giant.

On board Juno is a special camera called JunoCam, designed specifically to observe the dynamics of Jupiter's clouds.

In addition, the probe monitors the surface of the planet's numerous satellites.

It is noted that the recently received batch of images is one of the latest.

According to preliminary calculations, the space probe's mission was supposed to end after 33 flybys of the planet in 2017.

However, according to new calculations, Juno's mission will end within a year after the probe is pulled into the gas giant's chaotic atmosphere.
