Microsoft risks losing access to ChatGPT over OpenAI controversy.

The close partnership between the companies is showing signs of strain.

The collaboration that was called "the best bromance in tech" faces real problems, The New York Times reports.

Over the past year, OpenAI has been trying to change the terms of its agreement with Microsoft to gain greater financial benefits.

However, Microsoft is not looking to provide additional funding.

After months of negotiations, the companies reached an agreement to reduce the cost of using computing power.

Now OpenAI has also begun purchasing resources from other vendors, signing a deal with Oracle.

At the same time as renegotiating the terms of the deal with Microsoft, OpenAI sought to attract new investors.

In October, the company closed a $6.6 billion funding round led by Thrive Capital.

Microsoft has become concerned about its growing reliance on OpenAI technology.

Some company employees note that the startup is not delivering new technologies as quickly as they would like.

To combat the total dependence, Microsoft began investing in other AI projects.
