As scientists have found out, in 40% of cases, giving up some habits helps to avoid serious consequences.
The experts published their findings in the journal Cancer Journal for Clinicians .
According to experts, the significant reduction in cancer mortality is primarily due to preventive measures. These include giving up well-known bad habits.
The first on the list is smoking. It is the cause of lung, bronchial, esophageal and laryngeal cancer.
Second on the list of doctors is the consumption of alcoholic beverages, which cause oncological diseases of the oral cavity and throat.
Doctors also reminded about the need to control weight. Patients suffering from obesity are at risk and can develop stomach, liver and rectal cancer.
The fourth factor is excessive sunbathing. Excessive ultraviolet radiation is the main cause of melanoma.
The last factor doctors named was a sedentary lifestyle, which leads to cancer of the stomach, esophagus and colon.
