A Russian scientist has revealed when one of the most important stages of work on a revolutionary vaccine will begin in Russia.

Director of the N. F. Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology Alexander Ginzburg spoke with journalists during the Healthy Society forum.

In 2024, Russian scientists announced that they had made significant progress in creating an innovative cancer vaccine.

Therefore, one of the journalists’ questions concerned precisely the domestic development, which has every chance of making a significant contribution to the fight against cancer.

Ginzburg said that clinical trials of the vaccine will begin in mid-2025. The scientist noted that the deadline will most likely shift to the fall of next year, RIA Novosti reports.

Russian cancer vaccine

Experts explain that cancer develops because the body at some point stops recognizing cells as malignant. The vaccine is designed to correct this.

The peculiarity of the Russian development lies in the possibility of an individual approach to each case.

Ginzburg said earlier that artificial intelligence will be used to create a personalized vaccine.

The program will study the tumor parameters and create a "blueprint" of the future drug. Then, specialists will create a vaccine in about a week.
