With the development of digital technologies, fraudulent schemes aimed at stealing money are also changing.

Thus, it became known that scammers have come up with a way to extort money from their victims by showing a screen.

In particular, we are talking about broadcasting the screen of a smartphone or computer during a video call, as reported by the Onliner portal.

For such purposes, instant messengers are usually used.

It is important to remember this.

When convincing the victim to call via video link, the scammers usually introduce themselves as employees of the bank, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Bank and other similar organizations.

First, the call to the victim is made via a regular mobile phone.

Next, the scammers persuade the misled interlocutor to go to the messenger and turn on screen sharing.

During the conversation, criminals try to find out all the confidential information about the victim, for example, SMS passwords, access codes, card account numbers.

It is extremely important in such a situation to remember that an employee of any reputable organization will never offer a specific solution to a particular problem, but will invite you to the department.
