What you must do after a breakup

Breakups sometimes serve as the “basis” for many mistakes, which a person later deeply regrets.

So, let's look at what you absolutely need to do after a breakup.

Put off self-flagellation

The “procedure” that many people love after a breakup is long, persistent, thorough and very painstaking self-flagellation.

But put this process aside for a while. Right now you have much more important things to do: clean the house, return gifts to your ex-lover, eliminate all factors that remind you of your past relationship, and so on.

Go to a sanatorium/travel

Some people call this nuance “escapism,” but it’s actually very effective.

After a breakup, a person desperately needs a different environment, privacy, fewer problems (which have a bad habit of appearing exactly when a person cannot solve them!), and the absence of lectures and advice.

He just needs some time to come to his senses and sort out his feelings/thoughts, and make a decision for his future life.

Therefore, don’t be afraid to appear to others as a “weak coward who runs away from reality,” and take a trip to at least a sanatorium.

This way, you will both rest and calm down. And with a cool head, you will be able to make important decisions.

Write a Thank You Letter to Your Ex-Soulmate

A very interesting method that experts suggest after a breakup. It is worth noting that this option helps to gradually switch from bad to good. And not to put a "cross" on your future personal life.

Therefore, after you calm down, take a piece of paper and honestly write down everything for which you can say a sincere “thank you” to your former “loved one”.

Yes, it will be very difficult at first. After all, it will seem that nothing good happened. But calmly and gradually analyze your past together. Do not rush. And then you will be able to gradually find those small positive moments that were able to "enter" your life only thanks to your "other half".

A small addition: it is not necessary to send a letter. The main thing is to write everything honestly and openly.

Give up revenge/getting your loved one back

A very, very important point that is sometimes forgotten! After a breakup, accept one simple thought: "You shouldn't take revenge and you shouldn't return your ex-lover."

A small clarification: if your ex-spouse has done nothing worth taking revenge for (stole your work, set you up, falsely accused you, etc.), then give up on revenge. You will only waste your energy, time, and opportunities on it.

As for returning... This thought seems very tempting after a breakup. But don't keep it in your head. A mirror that's broken into small pieces can't be glued back together.

There will still be cracks. So, it's better to wish your ex-lover happiness and good luck. And go your own way. Remember: you deserve happiness. You just haven't met him yet.

Take care of yourself

What are the best distractions from a bad relationship? Work, study, and sports. So why not use them for your own benefit?

So start actively playing sports, change your image, sign up for additional courses to study something, start building your career or study additional sources of income.

Remember that you can do a lot. And unsuccessful relationships are not a reason to miss the opportunity to realize yourself as a professional in your field!
