A new fraud that took place in St. Petersburg has come to light.
The pensioner gave in to the scammers' persuasion and sold four apartments, after which she handed over the proceeds to the scammers.
RIA Novosti reports this with reference to information provided by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.
It is noted that the identities of the fraudsters remain unknown; the police are looking for those involved in the theft of a large sum of money.
The incident became known on November 1, when the deceived woman contacted the police.
It turned out that the fraudsters had been “processing” the victim for two months.
The scammers called the 72-year-old woman between September 12 and October 20 and persuaded the victim to sell her property.
As a result, the pensioner gave in to their persuasion, sold four apartments that belonged to her and handed over the money to the scammers.
The damage amounted to 31.44 million rubles, which were transferred to the couriers.
