US to deploy hypersonic weapons in Germany – Pentagon

The Pentagon has announced the timeframe for the deployment of US long-range weapons on the territory of a NATO country.

Germany has allowed Washington to deploy hypersonic weapons.

This is stated in a joint American-German document, Reuters reports.

The US will begin "episodic deployment" of long-range missiles on German territory in 2026.

We are talking about SM-6 missiles, Tomahawk missiles and hypersonic weapons.

The countries' joint statement noted that the weapons being deployed would have a "significantly greater range" than current ground-based weapons systems in Europe.

The Pentagon emphasized that this decision was agreed upon and approved during negotiations with the German side.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken accused Russia of attempting sabotage and assassinations in NATO countries.
