UN reports dangerous escalation in Middle East

According to Guterres, the operations that Israel carried out in Lebanon and Iran are capable of further destabilizing the situation in the Middle East. The UN Secretary-General condemns the killing of Haniyeh.
Guterres noted that Tel Aviv carried out the operations at a time when the international community is making every effort to establish a ceasefire.
The press secretary noted that the UN Secretary General has constantly called on the opposing sides to engage in constructive dialogue and exercise restraint.
But in these “difficult times,” restraint alone is no longer enough, the organization’s representative concluded.
