The United States may introduce new restrictive measures against Russian products.

This time, helium produced in the Russian Federation may be included in the sanctions list.

This was reported by the Politico newspaper, citing letters received by the Joe Biden administration.

It is noted that two senators, as well as two dozen members of parliament from both US parties, are in favor of introducing sanctions.

Politicians believe that it is necessary to slow down the spread of Russian helium around the world in order to prevent the country from becoming a global supplier of helium.

According to Senators Bob Casey and John Fetterman, if measures are not taken now, Russia will be able to gain a foothold in the growing helium market. And the most effective tool for this in the US is sanctions.

According to the newspaper, the senators sent their request directly to the administration of US President Joe Biden.

In turn, the remaining parliamentarians sent their proposals to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo.
