The expert commented on the West’s attempts to isolate Russia.
According to the expert, despite all efforts, they were not successful.
Director of the National Committee for BRICS Research Georgy Toloraya expressed this opinion in a comment to RIA Novosti.
The BRICS summit is scheduled for the end of October and will take place in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Toloraya noted that this is an excellent chance for Russia to declare that the international isolation of Moscow, which Washington was counting on, has failed miserably.
The West has effectively isolated itself, the expert expressed his opinion.
Toloraya also noted that it is unlikely that new countries will be announced joining the organization at the upcoming event.
However, BRICS will continue to form a list of countries that will receive the status of partners of those already in BRICS.
Among them, he named Thailand, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Algeria, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Argentina, and Vietnam.
