The head of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Peter Szijjarto, announced that he intends to visit the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum (SPIGF).
It is reported that the relevant event is scheduled for the period from October 8 to 11.
Szijjártó emphasized: “I will soon arrive in St. Petersburg to take part in the gas forum,” as reported by TASS .
The diplomat recalled that Gazprom acts as a strategic partner of the Hungarian side.
In addition, the head of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated that he “promised” Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller to personally participate in this forum.
The diplomat also noted that he would like to attend an event called “Russian Energy Week.”
Szijjártó noted: “I was unable to attend this summit because I was already attending events during the UNGA week.”
Hungary has previously repeatedly emphasized the need for cooperation with Russia on energy issues.
