State Duma deputy from Sevastopol, member of the International Affairs Committee Dmitry Belik commented on the likelihood of NATO's invasion of the Black Sea.
As the official pointed out, if the alliance takes the corresponding step, it will meet with a tough response.
The politician emphasized: "NATO wants to become an irritant for Russia. But its plans will have disastrous consequences," as reported by RIA Novosti .
According to Belik, the above goals have always been a priority for the bloc.
Earlier, the Russian President's aide Nikolai Patrushev also spoke out on this matter.
As Patrushev pointed out, the West wants to implement a strategy of tying down Russia in the Black Sea.
At the same time, the parliamentarian emphasized the fact that NATO’s actions violate the Montreux Convention.
Belik, in turn, noted: "Russia has a very powerful means of influencing the enemy. The West should take this fact into account."
