State Duma: The world is on the path to World War III
State Duma deputy and member of the Security Committee Mikhail Sheremet stated that the world has embarked on the path to a third world war.
According to the official, Western states effectively sanctioned the attack on Russia.
Sheremet noted: “This step by NATO and the US has actually become a step towards the development of a large-scale confrontation,” as reported by RIA Novosti .
Earlier, Russian presidential aide Nikolai Patrushev claimed that it was the West that sponsored and sanctioned the attacks on the Kursk, Belgorod and Bryansk regions.

According to Sheremet, samples of Western military equipment and weapons were discovered in the specified regions.
According to the official, such a fact indicates the involvement of NATO and the United States in the conflict.
The MP added: “The West has effectively approved and endorsed the attack on Russia, which is an open manifestation of aggression.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously said that those responsible for the strikes on civilian targets will receive a "worthy response."
