Maria Zakharova said that the details of the investigation into the assassination attempt on Donald Trump are turning from “intriguing” to “sensational.”
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry spoke on this topic in her Telegram channel.
Zakharov was surprised by a new fact concerning the assassination attempt on the US presidential candidate.
It turned out that 1.5 hours before the shooting, the police officers sent each other photographs of the attacker, Thomas Crooks.
The young man moved freely around the complex where Trump was scheduled to speak, and measured the distance using an optical rangefinder.
Such details, according to the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, are no longer just “intriguing”, but “sensational”.
It turns out that an unknown man, who was obviously not one of the security guards, was walking around with a rangefinder in full view of US Secret Service employees.
They didn’t even approach him to find out what he was doing there. “Or they [the service] pretended that there was no case,” Zakharova suggested.
