Russia has declared the presence of a Romanian embassy employee in the country undesirable.
The expulsion of the Romanian diplomat is Russia's response to the declaration of a Russian employee of the embassy in Romania as persona non grata.
An employee of the Romanian embassy has been declared persona non grata by Russia, the Russian Foreign Ministry website reports.
The Foreign Ministry called this a retaliatory measure to Bucharest’s actions towards the Russian diplomat.
Romanian Ambassador Cristian Istrate was handed a note about the employee's expulsion on July 3 during a summons to Smolenskaya Square.
The ministry did not specify who exactly it had decided to expel from the country.
Earlier, the Chinese Foreign Ministry responded to Finland’s words about Russia’s dependence on China.
