Russian Foreign Minister warns Western countries with three Russian proverbs
Sergey Lavrov commented in three sentences on the desire of the United States and other Western countries to escalate the conflict.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spoke about this in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin. A fragment of the conversation was published on his Telegram channel.
Any patience tends to run out, Lavrov emphasized. Moscow has a lot of it, but it can also run out, the Foreign Minister said.
Speaking on this topic, the diplomat recalled three popular proverbs at once.
“Measure seven times, cut once,” Lavrov said, hinting that one should under no circumstances rush or make hasty conclusions in the current situation.
“The Lord endured and ordered us to do the same,” the minister emphasized, and then voiced another proverb, which he addressed to officials in the West: “The Russian peasant takes a long time to harness, but he rides quickly.”
Moscow previously emphasized that Russia has a response to Western politicians who want to escalate the conflict.
The Russian military demonstrated this on November 21, using the latest non-nuclear hypersonic ballistic missile, the Oreshnik.
