Vasily Nebenzya responded to Israel's plans to draw the US into a direct conflict with Iran.
Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN noted that the Israeli authorities do not intend to resolve the Middle East crisis on their own.
According to him, the Israeli leadership is promoting a direct conflict between Iran and the United States, TASS writes.
Nebenzya also warned that such a conflict could reach an unimaginable level of escalation.
He stressed that this poses a threat not only to the Middle East, but to the entire world.
According to Nebenzya, all parties should be interested in ending this conflict as soon as possible.
This must happen despite the fact that Israel considers Iran its main regional adversary.
The possibility of an escalation of the conflict began to be discussed after Israel announced a powerful response to the bombing of Iran.
Experts predict that the escalation could provoke the involvement of other countries in the conflict.
