German MP Sevim Dagdelen gave a positive assessment of the talks between German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
She noted that even if this step is connected with the election campaign, it should be welcomed.
Olaf Scholz has finally achieved direct negotiations with Putin, Dagdelen wrote on the social network X (formerly Twitter, banned in Russia).
The conversation between the leaders of Germany and Russia was the first since December 2022. The main topic of discussion was the conflict in the region.
The Russian President recalled that Moscow is ready to resume negotiations on this issue. He emphasized that they were interrupted by the other side.
The talks between the two leaders have sparked heated comments in German society, where there have long been calls for a solution to the conflict.
