Poland to host conference on sanctions against Russia and Belarus

Poland has been elected to hold the presidency of the European Union for the first half of the year.

In this regard, official Warsaw announced a discussion of sanctions restrictions against Russia and Belarus.

This was stated by the head of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Radoslaw Sikorski, RIA Novosti reports.

The Polish Foreign Minister presented the priorities of his country's presidency, calling their main goal further work on sanctions against Russia and Belarus.

According to Sikorski, Poland intends to hold a specialized conference as early as February 2025, where countries will discuss increasing sanctions pressure on the above-mentioned countries, as well as the fight against circumvention of already adopted restrictions.

According to preliminary data, Poland intends to insist that EU countries agree to use Russian assets frozen on their territory.
