Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov commented on Western media reports about Vladimir Putin's telephone conversation with Donald Trump.

He said such claims were not true.

According to Peskov, neither a conversation nor a meeting between Putin and Trump has been planned yet, RIA Novosti writes.

He responded to a Washington Post report that the Russian leader and the US president-elect had spoken on the phone.

A Kremlin spokesman stressed that this information is false.

This is pure fiction and does not correspond to reality, Peskov said.

He also added that such reports only highlight the low quality of some materials in Western publications.

Despite the reports, the Kremlin thus confirmed that Putin's conversations with Trump have not yet taken place.

Putin, as Peskov explained, is ready to communicate with Trump after he takes office. However, at the moment there have been no official contacts between the leaders of the two countries.
