Pentagon confirms successful test of US hypersonic missile

The US Army and Navy recently completed a successful test of a hypersonic missile.
During flight tests, the Common Hypersonic Glide Body achieved hypersonic speeds at specified distances.
The second integrated flight test at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station was successful, the US Department of Defense website reports.
US Navy Secretary Carlos del Toro called the test a major milestone in the development of pond weapons.
The Pentagon said the tests were the second this year.
Comprehensive flight tests of the hypersonic missile took place with the participation of ground and naval personnel.
Information gained from the test will be used in the first operational deployment of the hypersonic missile to the Army and Navy bases.
