More than a thousand people have supported the lawsuit against von der Leyen
A Belgian activist has initiated proceedings against the head of the EC.
We are talking about possible violations related to COVID-19 vaccines.
RIA Novosti reports this with reference to a statement by Frederic Baldan, which he made during a meeting with journalists.
According to the activist, more than 1,000 plaintiffs have already joined the campaign he initiated. Among them:
- official representatives of Poland and Hungary;
- members of non-governmental organizations and associations.
According to Baldan, the European Commission allowed itself to approve a vaccine during the pandemic whose effectiveness had not been proven. In doing so, the agency violated the rights of European citizens.
At the same time, the EC introduced strict requirements for people, which implied mandatory vaccination with a vaccine approved by the commission.
It is noted that the first hearing took place in the Palace of Justice in Liege. The case was not considered on the merits, since its consideration is being obstructed by the European Public Prosecutor's Office.
