Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev responded to recent statements by Polish General Rajmund Andrzejczak.
He threatened to strike St. Petersburg in the event of Russia's attack on Lithuania.
In his Telegram channel, Medvedev recalled the historical events associated with the partition of Poland.
He also called for not provoking Russia.
This week, former Chief of the General Staff of Poland Andrzejczak said that if Russian troops cross the border with Lithuania, Warsaw will respond.
He stressed that the answer will be given within the first minute."
According to Andrzejczak, Poland will strike all strategic targets within a radius of 300 km and St. Petersburg.
In response to the harsh statement by the former Chief of the General Staff, Medvedev recalled that Poland should remember the numerous partitions and not “wake the beast.”
He also said that Warsaw was once part of the Russian Empire.
