The Chairperson of the Federation Council commented on the US decision to deploy hypersonic weapons in Germany.

Valentina Matviyenko claims that Russia will create a “tough and adequate” response to this move by Washington.

The Federation Council speaker expressed hope that the American authorities will nevertheless show prudence and not abandon plans to deploy hypersonic weapons on German territory, TASS reports.

If Washington does decide to do this, Moscow will prepare a “tough and adequate” response.

According to the speaker of the upper house of parliament, the deployment of such missiles is “simply unacceptable.”

Matviyenko emphasized that the documents signed after the Great Patriotic War prohibit Germany from having such weapons on its territory.

The Americans, meanwhile, have announced that they will begin deploying hypersonic missiles in Germany in 2026.

They will remain in Germany until Berlin creates its own analogues of these weapons.
