Makhachev called the Paris Olympics a disgrace for the Olympic movement
Russian UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev commented on the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris.
According to the athlete, the past event was a “disgrace” for the Olympics.
On social media, the athlete wrote: “The Paris Games have truly become a disgrace and a dark spot on the Olympic movement.”
According to Makhachev, the Olympic Games must be returned to Russia in order for the situation to change for the better.
An unflattering review
Earlier, foreign media outlets noted that the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris were accompanied by a number of strange events.
Thus, it was reported that the Olympic flag near the Eiffel Tower was installed incorrectly, namely, upside down.
In addition, the announcers called the South Korean athletes North Korean athletes when they announced them.
It was also noted that some spectators left the event due to poor visibility.
