Finnish authorities have developed a new restriction for Russian citizens.
Russians will be prohibited from conducting real estate transactions in Finland, said the head of the republic's Ministry of Defense, Antti Häkkänen.
In an interview with the Iltalehti newspaper, the official said that the issue is about a complete ban for almost all Russians.
An exception will be made only for those who have a permanent residence permit (RP) in Finland. The rest will be deprived of the right to make transactions in the country's real estate market.
Häkkänen stressed that the purpose of the bill is to prevent an increase in the number of Russians who own real estate in the republic.
The relevant initiative is ready for consideration with a view to approval at the state level.
The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the Finnish authorities are trying to hide the discriminatory nature of this bill under the pretext of ensuring security.
