The International Olympic Committee (IOC) mistakenly allowed the Russian flag to be broadcast instead of the USSR flag at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
It is emphasized that the unusual incident occurred during track and field competitions.
Thus, in particular, opposite the name and surname of the Soviet athlete Sergei Litvinov, a symbol of the Russian flag was displayed, as reported by RIA Novosti .
Litvinov set a world record at the 1988 Olympic Games.
The Olympics are being held in Paris and will last until August 11.
The event involves 15 Russians in five sports, namely tennis, canoeing, cycling, swimming and trampoline jumping.
The International Olympic Committee has allowed Russian athletes to participate in the games as neutrals.
Neutral status means the absence of the Russian flag and anthem, as well as a refusal to display Russian victories and their awards in the medal table.
