An Israeli spy has infiltrated the ranks of the Iranian agency's leadership.

A Mossad (Israeli intelligence) officer headed the anti-Israel department in Iran.

This was stated by former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, writes the Haberler publication.

The politician said that a special department had been created in the country to combat the Jewish state.

But at its head was a Mossad agent who provided his comrades with accurate and timely information about Tehran's plans.

Ahmadinejad made the announcement amid growing talk in Iran about Israeli spies.

The reason was the liquidation of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Lebanon. The Israeli military received information about the location of the movement's leader and carried out an airstrike.

Hezbollah representatives initially denied reports of their leader's death, but on September 28 the information was confirmed.

Prior to this, Israel carried out an operation that resulted in a massive explosion of wireless equipment in Lebanon.

Exploding pagers, laptops, radios and other equipment have caused panic among residents of the Middle Eastern country.
