Georgia has commented on the upcoming interrogation of politicians regarding the parliamentary elections that took place in the country.

Irakli Kobakhidze stated that Salome Zurabishvili’s refusal to appear for questioning will serve as proof of the falsity of her accusations.

Kobakhidze announced this during a meeting with journalists, RIA Novosti reports.

Let us recall that parliamentary elections were held in Georgia on October 26. The Georgian Dream party, which opposes anti-Russian sanctions and seeks to maintain relations with Moscow, received 53.93% of the votes.

The opposition parties, which received only 37.78%, have already announced that they do not recognize the results of the vote. Following the election results, the country's Prosecutor General's Office, following an appeal from the Georgian Central Election Commission, intends to conduct interrogations in connection with suspicions of falsification.

The first to appear for questioning is the country's current president, Salome Zurabishvili, whose questioning is scheduled for October 31.

Kobakhidze admitted that the president could refuse to appear, and then, in his opinion, this would mean only one thing: all the opposition’s accusations of falsification are false.
