Georgia wants to apologize for the conflict with South Ossetia in 2008.

The founder of the ruling party “Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia” Bidzina Ivanishvili spoke on this topic.

16 years after the Georgian-South Ossetian war, Tbilisi is ready to apologize to Ossetia.

Ivanishvili called that conflict fratricidal, TASS reports.

It was provoked by Mikheil Saakashvili and Georgia’s enemies, the politician emphasized.

After the results of the parliamentary elections are announced (October 26), the country intends to officially apologize to its “brothers and sisters” from Ossetia.

Members of the ruling party believe that bloodshed and the separation of South Ossetia and Abkhazia from Georgia could have been avoided in 2008.

The blame for those events was placed on Mikheil Saakashvili and his United National Movement party.
