FSB opens case against two journalists from Italy

The penetration of foreign journalists into the territory of the Russian Federation did not remain without consequences for the violators.

The Federal Security Service (FSB) has opened a case against Italian journalists.

This became known on Saturday, August 17, RIA Novosti reports.

The agency has launched an investigation. So far, it is about two journalists. The Russian side intends to hold Simoni Traini and Stefani Battistini accountable.

They are suspected of illegally crossing the state border. They ended up in the Kursk region to film a report on the situation in the region.

Moreover, they did this without permission from Moscow. The Russian Foreign Ministry had previously spoken about this.

The department stated that the competent authorities would conduct an investigation and make a procedural decision.

So far, the FSB has targeted Traini and Battistini. The agency is clarifying information about journalist Nick Peyton Walsh. There is information that he also illegally visited the territory of the Russian Federation.
