Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo commented on the possibility of opening the border with Russia.
He explained that there is no possibility for checkpoints to operate on the border with the Russian Federation.
Orpo reported this in an interview with the Iltalehti publication.
The Finnish Prime Minister said that a decision on opening the checkpoint in the future would be made in the event of a clear signal from Moscow.
Finland expects Moscow to provide guarantees that people with legal travel documents will arrive at border checkpoints.
According to the Prime Minister, the migrant chaos that was previously observed at checkpoints has been eliminated.
Finland may allow Russians to enter in the future, but this will require a number of conditions to be met.
