In China's understanding, the rapprochement between Russia and India is not a threat.

At the same time, the West, which hopes for rapprochement with New Delhi, should have more reason to worry.

Long Xingchun, a professor at the School of International Relations at Sichuan University of International Studies, made this statement to the Global Times .

He explained that the West is expressing dissatisfaction with India's relations with Russia.

However, China does not see a threat in the rapprochement of Russian-Indian relations.

Long Xingchun also stressed that, unlike China, India has faced less criticism for not condemning Russia and refusing to join sanctions against Moscow.

According to the expert, in this situation the West should have more reasons to be concerned if it hopes that India will act against Russia.

Long Xingchun stated that Western countries are thus making a fuss, hoping to sow discord in relations between China, Russia and India.

The most important reasons for the Indian Prime Minister’s visit to Russia were previously named.
