The head of the German Foreign Ministry found herself at the center of a scandal after information about the illegal issuance of visas to migrants.
Annalena Baerbock has been called upon to resign as minister and step down.
One of the leaders of the Alternative for Germany party, Alice Weidel, made this statement on her social media page.
She noted that the Foreign Ministry, under Baerbock's leadership, violated the law and acted as a "smuggler" by transporting crowds of undocumented migrants.
Weidel pointed out that law enforcement officers are still sorting out the situation. Against this background, the deputy believes that Baerbock should announce her resignation from the cabinet.
German police and prosecutors are investigating the illegal issuance of visas to migrants.
As German journalists point out, foreigners were given the right to enter Germany with questionable documents in hand.
They believe that the Foreign Ministry was involved. Journalists believe that Baerbock's department deliberately instructed embassies and consulates to approve applications for such visas.
