Bloomberg: Europe faces energy crisis due to sanctions against Gazprombank

New sanctions against Gazprombank will inevitably impact the economic situation in the world.

In particular, against the backdrop of the approaching cold weather and increased demand for energy resources, another crisis may break out.

Bloomberg came to this conclusion. The portal's new publication indicates that gas prices in Europe will increase by 45% in 2024.

Cold weather has caused gas supplies in the EU to begin to dwindle, increasing demand for energy.

At the same time, the US imposed sanctions against Gazprombank, which is the only one that can accept payment for Russian gas supplies to Europe.

Bloomberg does not rule out that gas supplies to the EU via Ukraine may cease even before the deadline expires.

All these factors indicate that European countries will not be able to replenish their reserves, and this will certainly increase pressure on gas prices.

For reference

An energy crisis is a phenomenon that occurs when the demand for energy resources is significantly higher than their supply.
