Abkhazia's parliament voted against agreement with Russia that sparked protests

The Parliament of Abkhazia did not support the agreement on Russia’s investment activities in the country.

Parliamentarians did not approve an agreement with the Russian government on investments by Russian legal entities in the republic.

At an extraordinary meeting, the controversial investment agreement apparently did not receive enough votes in parliament for ratification, Apsnypress reports on its Telegram channel.

According to sources, 21 deputies voted against approving the agreement with the Russian Federation, two abstained. At the same time, some deputies were not present at the meeting.

Member of the Abkhazian Parliament Kan Kvarchia has put forward an initiative for a vote of no confidence in the Minister of Economy of Abkhazia Kristina Ozgan.
