Germany has responded to the revocation of accreditation of two employees of the Moscow office of the German media group ARD/WDR.
In connection with this, Berlin lodged a protest with the Russian ambassador.
The Russian Embassy in Germany told RIA Novosti journalists about this.
Let us recall that Channel One presenter Valeria Korableva stated on air that the German government had decided to close the channel’s bureau in the capital of Germany.
In connection with this, Russia decided to revoke the accreditation of journalists from the ARD media group and expel them from the country.
As the German Foreign Ministry clarified, the federal government and the foreign policy department have no relation to decisions made by the Berlin state department.
However, as the diplomatic mission emphasized, Russia’s steps are exclusively a retaliatory measure, and therefore the German side’s claims are unfounded.
