Dmitry Medvedev called on France to arrest billionaire Mark Zuckerberg.

The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia stated that the same thing that Pavel Durov and his messenger Telegram are accused of is happening in the social network Facebook* created by an American.

The former Russian president emphasized that Zuckerberg’s social network contains “a lot of garbage” and criminal activity, TASS reports.

Medvedev noted that France should not contradict itself and arrest the American immediately after his arrival in the country.

At the same time, the politician raised a question that is relevant in the current situation: “Does the creator of this platform itself bear responsibility for this [what is happening on the social network/messenger]?”

Medvedev believes that Paris initiated the criminal prosecution of Durov for political reasons.

According to the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council, the nature of the detention of the founder of Telegram allows us to make exactly this conclusion.

Emmanuel Macron's words did not convince Medvedev. Earlier, the French president stated that Durov's arrest was not related to politics.
