Weather forecaster tells when Moscow drivers should change their tires to winter ones
A weather forecaster has addressed the capital's drivers with advice.
According to the expert, it is worth changing tires to winter ones no earlier than November.
Leading specialist of the Phobos weather center Evgeny Tishkovets shared his opinion with the TASS agency.
The expert reminded that it is worth going to a tire shop when meteorological winter sets in. However, it will not come to Moscow anytime soon, since neither sharp cold snaps nor snow are expected until the end of October.
However, if you change your summer tires to winter tires now, there is a risk of damaging the road surface with studded tires.
Tishkovets noted that it is not worth going to a tire shop until the end of October, or even postponing the visit until November.
The last month of autumn will be characterized by temperatures a couple of degrees above normal, therefore, meteorological winter should not be expected before the second half of November.
According to weather forecasters, a stable snow cover will fall on the ground at the end of November or will not appear until the beginning of December.
