A Moscow court has chosen a preventive measure for top managers who decided to illegally enrich themselves through government contracts.
The press service of the capital's courts of general jurisdiction reported details on Friday, August 30, in its Telegram channel.
Igor Mironov and Oleg Ivanov were placed under arrest. The decision was made by the Presnensky Court of Moscow. It is known that the investigators petitioned to place the defendants under arrest.
Mironov and Ivanov will be held in pretrial detention for one month and 29 days (until October 28, 2024).
They are accused of abuse of power in the implementation of a state contract in the defense sector. The details of the case have not yet been disclosed.
In 2024, investigators opened a number of high-profile criminal cases against senior Defense Ministry officials and businessmen associated with them.
Among them, for example, are the Voentorg case, the Patriot Park, the detention and arrest of former Deputy Minister of Defense Timur Ivanov, the cases of Generals Dmitry Bulgakov, Ivan Popov and retired Army General Pavel Popov.
