Two fraudulent couriers detained in Moscow region after defrauding pensioner

Police officers have detained suspects in the theft of money from an elderly resident of the Moscow region. The details are reported by the Moscow Agency, citing Tatyana Petrova, head of the information and public relations department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the Moscow region.

It is noted that the pensioner was contacted by phone by her alleged granddaughter. She told her that she was the culprit of the accident and that she needed to pay 1.5 million rubles to "close" the case.

According to Petrova, the elderly woman did not have the full amount, but the attacker agreed to take this money.

She noted that the pensioner handed the money over to the courier, but soon they demanded the rest of the money from her. The woman handed it over as well.

It is also known that the pensioner soon realized that she had been deceived. She contacted the police.

Petrova noted that two suspects were detained.

It is added that a criminal case has now been opened under the article on fraud.
