The number of road accidents with fatalities and injuries has decreased in the Moscow region
In the Moscow region, great attention is paid to road safety.
The result of this work is a reduction in the number of road accidents.
In the first half of 2024, more than 1.6 thousand road accidents were identified in the Moscow Region. Details are reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure of the Moscow Region and Deputy Chairman of the Moscow Region Government Alexey Gerzhik.
It is noted that, compared to the same period last year, this year the number of accidents with fatalities has decreased by more than 10%, and with casualties by almost 7%.
According to Gerzhik, the increase in the figures affected cases related to vehicle rollovers and collisions with animals.
The ministry noted that work is currently underway to improve road safety. Specialists are creating sidewalks, installing traffic lights and road signs.
In addition, various fences are currently being erected, and inspectors are on duty and conducting raids.
