Following the scandal over high prices, the Bolshoi Theatre has announced the cost of the cheapest ticket for the ballet The Nutcracker.

For children from 14 to 22 years old, the ticket price will be 1,250 rubles, for viewers over 60 years old, the ticket will cost 5 thousand rubles.

The theater's message on VKontakte states that the cheapest full-category ticket will cost 5 thousand rubles.

Tickets for the December 17 ballet will go on sale on December 2.

Ticket sales for the special program will open at the same time on the theater’s official website.

Earlier, the State Duma called high prices for theatre tickets unconscionable and called on the Ministry of Culture to look into the matter.

According to deputy Vitaly Milonov, the Bolshoi Theatre, being a state institution, should not be transformed into a private organization by financial policy.
