Telephone scammers stole 146 million rubles from a Moscow pensioner

A new case of telephone fraud has been reported in Moscow.

The victim voluntarily handed over more than 146 million rubles to the criminals.

The incident was reported by RIA Novosti , citing information provided by law enforcement agencies.

A criminal case has been opened on the fact of the incident under the article on fraud on an especially large scale. The identities of the fraudsters who appropriated other people's funds are being determined.

Circumstances of the case

As law enforcement officials established, the telephone scammers contacted a pensioner from Moscow.

The criminals called the woman and convinced her that her savings were in danger.

The pensioner believed the scammers and, allegedly in order to save her savings, withdrew them from her accounts and transferred them to the criminals through couriers sent by them.

It is noted that as a result of several money transfer operations, the woman lost more than 146 million rubles.
