Surgeons from Moscow Region Removed a Woman's "Porcelain" Gallbladder

Doctors performed surgery on a woman with a rare gallbladder disease. The Moscow Agency reports details, citing the press service of the Moscow Region Health Ministry and the head of the surgical department, Pavel Kudryavtsev.
It is noted that a woman was taken to the Reutov Clinical Hospital. She complained of an unpleasant sensation in the right hypochondrium.
According to the press service, after diagnostics, specialists found calculous cholecystitis in the patient. Its type turned out to be rare.
They also specified that there was calcium on the walls of the gallbladder. Over time, such an illness could develop into cancer, but thanks to the operation, bad consequences were avoided.
According to Kudryavtsev, the causes of the disease could be poor nutrition, alcohol, a malfunction in the body, or a weak immune system.
The department concluded that the woman is currently in good health. She was discharged home.
